QMy child is dyslexic do you have experience with this?

We have highly experienced and qualified dyslexia specialists.
QMy child has had so many tests but no diagnosis how do we know Freddies would be appropriate?

All of our children are given a comprehensive 2 week assessment by trained professionals to establish their skills and needs. We believe in building self esteem and playing initial to a child's positive abilities.
QMy son/daughter is really violent how would you cope with this and how bad would he have to be before he is excluded?
A
We do not exclude, each episode would be dealt with individually in a firm fair way. We have a trained therapist on hand and where appropriate the child can channel their energy in the gym.
QWhat is your pupil / teacher ratio?

We have a full complement of teachers and support staff making our ratio no more than 2:1.
QMy child cannot read will this hold him back?

Our main focus is to provide each child with the building blocks to succeed at their own pace through individual lessons plans based on their specific abilities. We provide a dyslexia assessment alongside of an IQ test.
QWill the children be expected to do homework?

Homework will only be given where appropriate and our parent liaison will be available to offer help and advice
QHow involved will I be in my child's education?

At Freddies every parent is crucial to the school; we have appointed a specialist parent liaison who will ensure that we work together as a team sharing strategies, techniques and experiences.
QWe live outside your area could my child still be considered?

Yes! Your LEA has the authority to sanction this.
QMy son's behaviour is so bad he has always been banned from any school trip what happens at Freddies?
A
We believe that learning has to be fun! We have various carefully organised school trips and assess all risks beforehand. Our pupil/teacher ratio ensures maximum attention and supervision so no child is excluded. One of our tools will be to stop a child getting these treats if really naughty!
QI am sure my child cannot hear properly but no one will listen?

Sight and hearing difficulties are major contributors to challenging behaviour we include these as an essential part of our assessment.
QHow do I get a statement?

Typically the school your child is at will help or write directly to the Chief executive at your local LEA, you can find their contacts in the phone book or just go on the website and enter your local authority for the number and details.
QHow do I get a place for my child at Freddies?
ANormally your child would be statemented due to their difficulties, we are happy for you to contact us and we will advise and help you with assessing if your child is suitable.
QWhat's different about Freddies?

We educate not just deal with behaviour.
QI am having problems finding out what my rights and entitlements are. Is there a document that will help us?
